How do I become a Mythic Merchant?

We have relaunched our commercial license as a monthly subscription here on our website. For as long as you are subscribed you will be an officially licensed seller. You can read more about it here: Mythic Merchant

Is everything on this webshop digital files only?

Yes, all products you see on arsmoriendi3d.com are digital STL-files.

How can I buy a physical mug?

The Mythic Mugs can be acquired physically through our commercially licensed Merchants. You can find a seller here: Merchant Finder

Can I drink straight out of the mugs?

No, we don’t advice you to. 3D prints have layer lines that are hard to clean properly and will cause bacteria to grow.
It is possible to improve a 3D print by coating it in a food-safe resin. Please do so at your own risk and read about the subject before doing so.

Do the prints require support?

No support is needed! They were designed to be easy to print and with little to no filament waste. All designs have been test printed before release.

How long do the mugs take to print?

The mugs are large prints and will roughly take between 12 and 24 hours. For example, the free mug “The Lion’s Brew” has been seen printed in around 14 hours and up to 58 hours! Print settings makes a big time difference, check our printing guide for more information: Printing Guide

How big are these mugs?

The Mythic Mugs have been designed to fit in the build area of an average sized printer (Ender 3, Prusa MK3). On average a Mythic Mug weighs 200 grams and are usually below 18cm in height (exceptions being the Game Master, the Elf and the Bard, but come in a split version as well). You can see the height of each mug in the shop.

Which print settings do you use?

In general we print with 2 walls, 4 top and bottom layers, 12% infill and 0.2mm layer height and find that this makes a very decent mug.

Which can sizes do the mugs fit?

Fresh off the printer a Mythic Mug will fit a 500ml/16.9oz sized can.

By using the removable Mythic Inserts, the mugs are able to further support the following can sizes:
• 473ml / 16.9oz
• 440ml / 12.7oz
• 375ml / 12oz
• 355ml / 12oz
• 355ml / 12oz (sleek)
• 330ml / 11.3oz
• 330ml / 11.3oz (sleek)
• 300ml / 10.1oz
• 250ml / 8.3oz
• 200ml / 6.7oz
• 12oz bottles

If you scale up the mug to 110,625% it will instead be able to fit 23oz, 23.5oz and 25oz (73mm diameter cans.) This has only been tested properly with a 23oz and the top of the can will be around 2 cm visible. They were not specifically designed for these sizes, so we can’t guarantee for the end result!

Can I resin print a mug?

It’s definitely doable and we have seen a few examples but it may require some extra effort. We unfortunately can’t offer much guidance on this topic (yet!). The Mythic Mugs were designed with FDM/filament printers in mind.
